Red Rose Fascinator & Collar

Red Rose Fascinator & Collar

Wear this unique set for your next special occasion, romantic night out or because it makes you feel good.  I designed both pieces from the patterns to making everything it took to produce this set.

The fascinator is a buckram base which I designed and covered and lines in red satin.  Then I hand sewed the rose petals all over and made the rose from the same rose petals.  It has a French clip back so that you can turn the fascinator any direction according to your hairstyle and taste.

The collar I designed the pattern and the top is red satin covered in petals, lined with red cotton for comfort around your neck.  It has a simple snap closure and you can wear this piece in place of a necklace or over a dress or jacket.

These pieces took many hours of sewing and to see more photos, please visit this blog.

Angel Wings & Accessories

Angel Wings & Accessories

I designed this wing set because my daughter wanted something special for photography and when she saw them finished, she said that I should offer them for sale.  This set is off white and comes with a halo, neck cuff and earrings.  The arm straps are adjustable so that they can be set for any size and be worn comfortably.  The wings are lightweight and can be worn for photography, the runway, as part of your costume or simply bedroom fantasy.  The neck cuff has a dangling angel wing that matches the earrings.  The halo has a rhinestone ANGEL piece in the front.  The wings are covered in off white brocade fabric, trimmed in marabou.

Please note:  The boa skirt is sold seperately.  Please view in my wearable art catagory.

Feather Boa Skirt

Feather Boa Skirt

This skirt is available now in size large, and fits waist 28".

I designed and made this skirt for my daughter who had been wanted to wear something unique for a glamorous party.  She was so impressed with it that she said I should offer them for sale.  The skirt is designed so that you can wear it over a sheath, fitted style dress, to wear for a glamour photo shoot, on the stage or over your favorite sexy underwear as a tempting and glamorous outfit to wear for your partner.

The skirt can be specially ordered to fit waist 24", 26" or 28".  It ties in the front as you can see and there is a small leeway to either expand or take it in at the waist.  It is made with top quality, deluxe feather boas.  The yoke of this skirt is made out off white of damask fabric, fully lined with satin.

White Feather Cape

White Feather Cape

I designed this one of a kind, very unique cape for a woman who really wants something different for her fall/winter wedding to either wear as part of her bridal outfit or to wear when she changes into her honeymoon outfit.  When I made this cape I hand cut every feather to get the shape I desired.  I have no clue how many feathers I used to cover the cape because I lost count an hour after beginning.  I formed a pattern so that each feather overlaps the other and was careful how to finish the design around the neck and front edge.  The feathers were added over white corduroy fabric and it is lined in white satin.

To see more photos of this piece, please visit my blog.

The white feather headpiece with necklace is also available and you can see it in the wedding section.

The fabric is stamped velvet, in a beautiful shade of burgundy and fits women's size 8 to 12.  It is completely lined with burgundy colored satin.  The flower comes with the cape and has a broach back and small set rhinestones sewn in the center.  It can be removed if you desire to wear a different broach with the cape.  The flower also comes with a small alligator clip so that you can wear it in your hair. The velvet fabric must be dry cleaned.

There is a matching fascinator if you wish to purchase a complete outfit.

For more information about both pieces, please view this blog.

The complete outfit would be great for a wedding or Steampunk Victorian event.

Victorian Lace Waistcoat

Victorian Lace Waistcoat

Everything about this piece says Victorian.  Lavender and green colors, lace, findings, and ribbon embroidery.  On my blog are many photos with explanations of techniques and materials.

Forgive these photos.  My mannequin is a size 0, and these waistcoats have been folded and carefully stored away from dust, dirt and light.  If you purchase one, before wearing, it will need a light steaming to remove any wrinkles.

Desperate times call for desperate measures!  When the going gets tough, the tough gets going! Both of these sayings are where I am at this moment.  I started my millinery business due to health issues brought on from surgery in March 2010, that left me with major complications.  I paid cash for this surgery and do not have insurance.  I managed to put a bit aside in case of continuing medical emergencies, but I just used it to fix the transmission in my aged car.  So I made a decision today to sell these one of a kind lady's waistcoats to try to put money back in my account.

About this piece.  I have been a designer and teacher for most of my life and I love ribbon embroidery.  Before I sell them all (there are quite a few) I took many photos and wrote all about the techniques I used.  These are samples I made to teach Victorian Ribbon Embroidery and all are the same size, medium.  You will see a photo where I took a tape measure and laid it across the back under the armhole, side seam to side seam.  The measurement is 18 1/2".  These will fit approximately a bust 34" to 36".  I had hoped one day to frame each of these pieces and donate them to a worthy cause.  I cannot expect to get money back for the many, many hours I put into each one and all I can hope for is that each one will go to a very worthy collector who appreciates wearable art.  Each piece is completely lined and lovingly made.  This piece must be dry cleaned due to silk ribbon.

Velvet Garden Waistcoat

Velvet Garden Waistcoat

Every ribbon embroidered piece I made tells a story.  As a teacher of this art, I wanted to share with my students how you can diversify with fabrics and other media.  This piece I used black velvet on the front panels and embroidered a sampler garden of flowers.  A detailed explanation and more photos are on my blog.

Forgive these photos.  My mannequin is a size 0, and these waistcoats have been folded and carefully stored away from dust, dirt and light.  If you purchase one, before wearing, it will need a light steaming to remove any wrinkles.

Down on the Farm Waistcoat

Down on the Farm Waistcoat

When I made this piece, I wanted to share with my students how any purchased fabric could 'speak' volumes to a designer.  This one told me to embroider a field of flowers for the farm animals to pick.  I appliquéd a cow, pig, duck, rabbit, sheep and chicken  before I wove a colorful garden of embroidered flowers through them.  A detailed explanation and more photos are on my blog.

Forgive these photos.  My mannequin is a size 0, and these waistcoats have been folded and carefully stored away from dust, dirt and light.  If you purchase one, before wearing, it will need a light steaming to remove any wrinkles.

My inspiration for this piece came from the two times I lived in Singapore and all the wonderful colors and cultures I saw and shared in.  A detailed explanation and more photos are on my blog.

Rose Trellis Waistcoat

Rose Trellis Waistcoat

Rose Trellis When I made this piece, I was teaching my students how they could use their sewing machines as a backdrop for their ribbon embroidery.  I designed a trellis and hanging basket and taught them how to use a fine zigzag to make these designs.  When finished them, I hand embroidered many, many spider roses and rose buds, (too many to count) along with vines and leaves.

A detailed explanation and more photos are on my blog.

Crazy Quilt Waistcoat

Crazy Quilt Waistcoat

I taught my students how to do my method of crazy quilting so that they could use it as the groundwork for their embroidery.  Then I showed them that their sewing machines could add embroidery stitches to add more design to go with their hand work.  This one has so many details that I wrote them all on my blog to take up less space.

A detailed explanation and more photos are on my blog.

The Natural Garden Waistcoat

The Natural Garden Waistcoat

My inspiration with this piece was the fabric with natural colored flowers.  I also wanted to teach my students how they could couch over gold cord to make a vine that would change the design and add more detail  I hand embroidered so many French knots to form one tyoe of flower and nestled tiny glass beads among them to form flowers that would shine in the light.  Then I embroidered lazy daisies with silk ribbon and added gold beads in the centers.

A detailed explanation and more photos are on my blog.

Time for Tea Waistcoat

Time for Tea Waistcoat

I have always been drawn to teapots and everything tea, due to my heritage and upbringing.  Even though I live in Texas and it is very hot in the summer, I drink tea the way others drink soda, only these days I drink green tea.  This piece was inspired by my love for these things and bringing ribbon embroidery into the mix, made this design complete.
